JCCF International Students Learn How to Do CPR

FK Unimal invited ten JCCF (Joint Cultural Camp Fall) international students from Germany, Netherlands, Norwegia and France to perform CPR with medical students (2/10/2024). This initiative not only aims to bolster emergency response capabilities but also to promote awareness of cardiovascular health in diverse communities. “Learning CPR is crucial for anyone to be the first responder for out hospital cardiac arrest,” said dr. Anna, Sp. An lecturer from FK Unimal “We are excited to have JCCF international students to join us in this important training, which will empower them to save lives both in their home country and wherever they may go.” The international students expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity and try to do CPR on the manequine that faculty provided. They also learn about transportation and evacuation during disaster. Before the commencement of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training, the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Malikussaleh (Unimal) hosted an educational theatrical performance presented by its medical students. The performance featured two important scenarios: "Fractured Bones" and "Post-Disaster Depression," highlighting the need for Psychological First Aid. This event aims to raise awareness among students and the community about the importance of emergency skills in crisis situations. The "Fractured Bones" scenario will demonstrate the appropriate first aid procedures, while the "Post-Disaster Depression" scenario will emphasize the significance of psychological support for those experiencing trauma. FK unimal students involved in this performance hope to provide a realistic depiction of the challenges faced in emergency situations, showing that first aid is not only physical but also mental. In times of disaster, emotional support is vital.
