Malikussaleh University is a state university which undertakes higher education programs integrated with the Indonesian education system. This university was established in 1969 as the Academy of Islamic Studies, transformed as Malikussaleh University under the North Aceh Government-owned Foundation in 1980, and then became a state university in August 2001. Malikussaleh University is located in Lhokseumawe, an Industrial city in the East Coast of Aceh. Its strategic location connects Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh Province, and Medan, the capital of North Sumatera Province.
Malikussaleh University is committed to implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (three sacred missions of the higher education institution): undertaking education, conducting research, and performing community services.
